Gary’s Kitchen is a project made in collaboration with my homeless friend Gary, he informed me that a lot of people buy food for him without asking what he wants to eat or if it’s a convenient time and a lot of that food is fast-food and quite unhealthy. I saw this as a wasted generosity that had the potential for change.
In response to the issues, Gary’s Kitchen is a proposal for a system whereby people could buy homeless people food, drink and snack tickets. The homeless people could then use the ticket to choose healthy ‘Gary’s Kitchen’ food, snacks and drinks in any participating stores at a time convenient to them.
This allows the homeless people to choose what and when they eat, whilst also encouraging people to give food to those in need. This project won a creative conscience award and I want this project to become a reality.
